What in the world is an edible?
Marijuana is mixed into a variety of food products either as the leaves or as a resin extracted from the leaves.

These food products can range from brownies to popcorn to drinks.
(Denver Public Health)

Brownies tend to be the most popular form.
"There are few state guidelines that define how marijuana edibles can be made and sold, and a flurry of local attempts to do that has done little to change the fact that the edibles industry largely regulates itself" (Reefer Sanity, p. 95).

The amount of THC in these products varies. Some contain more than one dose. The time needed for effects to be felt is longer (anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours), which can lead to over consumption.
(Denver Public Health)

There is a high potential for overdose, making it more dangerous then smoking.
