Watch for Early Warning Signs

  • Keep an eye on sleepovers. Many youth first use drugs or alcohol at sleepovers
  • Check-in before bed for any signs of drug use
  • Keep them busy. Help them sign up for activities they have interest in
  • Familiarize yourself with their social media. Have them as a friend or follow them on social media, or make sure you track their usage
  • Keep tabs. Volunteer at their school. Introduce yourself to their friends and get to know them. Pop-in when they have friends over to say hi.
